January 27, 2019 (Edmonton) – On behalf of the Alberta Party Caucus, MLA Greg Clark is standing with the entire Jewish community in Alberta and around the world in denouncing hatred in all its forms, including Anti-Semitism, homophobia, Islamophobia, and all other acts of hatred that lead folks to believe that different groups need to have different rights or a lack of rights.

“In 1939 the international community turned a blind eye towards what was happening in Germany where the democratically elected leaders had brought in a hatred filled mandate and had begun to enact the worst form of legislation. Laws to discriminate against those who were different, not by choice, but by birth.”

“Today, all Albertans mourn the loss of millions of innocent grandparents, parents, and children who were taken by the evil of the Holocaust and we vow to Never Again let these kinds of atrocities pass without standing up for those who are being discriminated against. We commit to doing better, and to being better people and not standing by as some did less than 80 years ago.”

“On behalf of my family, and of my Caucus, please know that time will not heal these wounds, and that there will never be justice for those who were lost, but we as elected officials promise to stand strong against hate filled policies that seek to break apart our cultural mosaic.”
