November 14, 2018 (Edmonton) – On behalf of the Alberta Party Caucus, Critic for Health MLA Karen McPherson is encouraging all Albertans to get informed on World Diabetes Day.

“Diabetes has a big physical and emotional impact on the lives of those who suffer from it. Globally, over 425 million people live with Diabetes, and the disease affects their family lives, healthcare needs, and quality of life.”

“It also presents a real challenge to our community to support those who are suffering from Diabetes, or are at risk of developing it.”

“Type 2 Diabetes is preventable; we need to improve our exercise and eating habits, and our workplace environments in order to be healthier and to live a better life.”

“Let’s commit to doing more as a society, lead by example in our homes and workplaces and continue to support those living with Diabetes, and those that want to lead a healthier lifestyle.”

“On behalf of the Alberta Party Caucus, I encourage Albertans to learn more about Diabetes and what we can all do to support our well-being.”
