September 5, 2018 (Edmonton) – The Alberta Party Caucus is marking the International Day of Charity by applauding Albertans for their spirit of giving, and reminding us all that we are stronger together.

Caucus leader Rick Fraser is asking Albertans to take this day as an opportunity to reach out to a local charity, donate to a food bank, or lend a helping hand to someone in need.

“Albertans are generous people, kind and caring. Our spirit is one of collective good and always trying to help our neighbours.”

“Nowhere was this more visible than during the Fort McMurray fires or the flooding in southern Alberta.”

“On behalf of the Alberta Party Caucus, I encourage each and every person to try to do a small good deed today, and for each day until the next International Day of Charity. Let’s work together to make this world a better place.”

The International Day of Charity was officially recognized by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012. September 5th was chose to commemorate the passing of Mother Teresa.
