January 9, 2018 (Edmonton) – The Alberta Party Caucus formally welcomed MLA Rick Fraser today.
“We are thrilled to welcome Rick to the team,” said Alberta Party Caucus leader Greg Clark. “He has a long track record of service to his constituents and to our province. His values fit very well with the Alberta Party Caucus and I can’t wait to work with him in the Legislature.”
Alberta Party MLA Karen McPherson expressed her strong support for Fraser’s decision to join the Alberta Party Caucus.
“I’m very pleased that Rick has joined the Alberta Party caucus,” said McPherson. “I know him to be an authentic, committed MLA who conducts himself thoughtfully and he’s taken the time to listen to his constituents about what they need. The experience he brings to the caucus will be a tremendous asset and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
Fraser said he is looking forward to joining with his new colleagues in presenting Albertans with a common sense political alternative.
“I have a tremendous amount of respect for Greg and Karen,” said Fraser. “I’ve seen firsthand their dedication to improving the lives of their constituents and all Albertans, and I’m excited about joining a caucus that has the best interests of Albertans at heart.”
He also added that he believes working with the Alberta Party will allow him to be a stronger advocate for Calgary-South East.
“Rick went through a long and thoughtful process and he actively listened to the constituents of Calgary-South East,” said Clark. “Just like the process Karen McPherson followed, the focus was on doing the right thing for the people they represent and for the people of Alberta.
“With Rick on board we will be even better able to engage Albertans and provide constructive solutions to the challenges facing our province.”
